Why do we do the Great Endeavour Rally and Cruise - and the Super Endeavour Rally? ....

Because of the smiles on the faces of the Clients, and the pride that glows from their work satisfaction …… could never be priced.

I urge everyone to take a friend and do a tour of the Townsville Clients Workshop and see for yourself the marvelous service Endeavour is doing for our community. I know first hand how much the Endeavour Foundation is needed in the community and that is why I support this cause.

I first became involved in the Endeavour Rally back in 2002 after hearing stories from my long time friends, the “Supergramps” car 44. At the time I wondered why they were so excited to be going on the rally again. And now I know, I am heading for my 7th consecutive rally in 2008.

Neil observed the first two rallies I did as we were both members of the Townsville 4WD Club and he was always first to put his hand I his pocket for whatever fundraising function I was involved in.

The 3rd year I asked him to join me but he was unable to because of work commitments. It took him 30 seconds to make up his mind in 2005 when the rally went to Tasmania. We had a marvelous time and planned our new heavy duty rally car on the way home. A fortnight later we had our car. It wasn’t roadworthy so that was our first task. My daughters were horrified when I told them, and then came the name…….. they really began to wonder about their mothers sanity. They got over it.

We accept donations of any kind. It can be a donation of cash, goods for a raffle, signage on our car. You may invite us to come to your workplace for a fundraising event or any other idea you have. We will be there.

All donations end up with Endeavour as Neil and I pay all of our own expenses. You won’t find any ‘tall poppy’ syndrome on the Great Endeavour, just down to earth Aussies banding together for a great cause: seeing Australia and having fun while raising money for Endeavour’s essential work for people with intellectual disability.

Neil and I were honored to win the Supreme Prompter award in 2006 and came 7th in the Fundraising out of 106 cars. We were also placed 31st in the rally section of 75 cars.

2007 we gained 11th highest fundraiser.

Neil and I have teamed up again with car 20 for the 21st Super Endeavour Rally in 2008. Our 93 Commodore “DUNNYDORE” 20 was very well prepared by Neil and is ready to go now. Of course there are always extras we are adding!
